School Council
The Manorside Academy School Council consists of representatives from across Years 1 - 6.
A new School Council member is appointed every year for every class through a democratic process. Any child in a class can put themselves forward as a class representative. The candidates are encouraged to make a short speech to explain to their class why they should be the School Council representative. The children in the class then vote and the person with the most votes is elected while the person with the second most votes becomes second in command.
School Council meetings take place regularly. All School Council members are responsible for discussing with classes what suggestions they may have. At every School Council meeting, any suggestions put forward are discussed and voted on, if appropriate. Any suggestions which the School Council would like to implement are presented to the Senior Leadership Team.
Projects the School Council have been involved in include; creating the Manorside Academy Values, supporting Hope for Food and making links with other schools. The School Council came up with the value of 'Uniqueness', highlighting the inclusive culture of our school.
